A controlled, hierarchy-aware organisation scope picker. The consumer supplies authorised nodes, ancestry, loading and search callbacks; the component owns only the transient chooser state.

Staff, group, region and leaf contexts

Switch personas to see the same control adapt to staff All clients access, a group subtree, a regional subtree, one operating company, and unrelated memberships. Expand chevrons independently from selection; group and region nodes expose explicit Organisation only and Group view extents.

Staff explicitly opt into All clients, then can move through the complete permitted directory.

Dynamic states

Loading, retryable error, permission loss and async children/search are first-class states. Search results retain full ancestry, and slow callbacks are aborted when a newer query starts.

Render loading feedback while the consumer resolves a fresh directory page.

Retryable error

Retry remains a consumer callback when the error is managed outside the picker.

Permission changed

The current value stays visible as unavailable; it never falls back to All clients.

Async directory with search

Expand a group to load children, retry a failed page in place, or search by a repeated name and use its full ancestry.
